Congratulations to WHS junior Ava Butt for her participation in the Senate Scholar Program! Below is a narrative of Ava's amazing experience. This week has been filled with many opportunities to learn about how the government runs and what goes into making that government run smoothly, including all of the government offices. I have enjoyed so much about the Senate Scholar Program so far. Some of my favorites have been the Capitol Dome Tour including facts and history, working as a Senate Page during the Session, meeting Senator Testin, and attending the State of the State Address. This program has helped me to become a more informed citizen and have a better understanding of leadership and decision making along with working as a team. It has been an experience that I will never forget.

The kindergarten classroom was 'a-buzz' last week when their 5th grade buddies came down to help with an art project. Kindergarten students had to answer questions based on their likes/dislikes in-order to build and create their 'Love Bugs'.

Redgranite Student Council members are on a mission to spread kindness throughout their school this year. For Valentine's Day, members designed conversation hearts and wrote 'sweet' messages on them. Children were excited to see the messages on their lockers.

Redgranite Elementary students weren't the only wild animals at school a few Fridays ago. MToxins came to visit our students and brought along some slow, slithery, and some (mostly teachers) may say scary, friends. Students and staff learned a lot, and gained new appreciation for these animals. Grades 3-5 also got to see a venom extraction happen right before their eyes!
