Congratulations to WHS's October Student of the Month: Yessica Arreola The Social Studies/English Department would like to nominate Yessica Arreola. Yessica is a very hard worker and did a great job with her first writing assessment in Mr. Thompson's Survey of American History class about the reasons why so many colonists died in Early Jamestown. She was clear and concise in her writing. Her English teacher Mr. Mathias had this to say, "She works very hard in English and is super active in class discussion. She always has poignant observations about the literature." Yessica would make a great choice for student of the month because she embodies what we want in our students, hard working, curious, self-reflective, and willing to help others. The Spanish, Art, Physical Education and the Music Department also would like to nominate Yessica Arreola as Student of the Month. Yessica is a student who is constantly challenging herself. She is currently in a Native Speakers class. She finishes all her work on time. Yessica goes above and beyond on her projects. In class she is always willing to participate in all discussions or activities. When you see her in the hallway, you are always greeted with a smile. Her positive demeanor is a great asset to others around her. On the days she is virtual learning she is the first one to show up for the google meet for the class. When she doesn’t understand a concept, she is not afraid to ask for help. Yessica is a kind student and always willing to help others. Keep up the great work!

“This student doesn’t draw attention to herself, but she does what needs to be done. She is a quiet girl who can easily go unnoticed. But her teacher does notice her. I notice her kindness. Being polite is just a part of who she is and how she treats others. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to work hard in third grade to do her best. In addition, she can be counted on to be honest and responsible. I know that she will always do the right thing whether I am watching or not. This student is a true representation of all of the Wautoma Area School District character traits and I am truly honored to nominate Emma Krombos as Redgranite's October Student of the Month.” – Mrs. Julie Petersen
