With LFS Grant funds, Wautoma School District Nutrition program was able to purchase around 500 pounds of fresh, locally raised Jersey-Angus beef in sirloin roast and fresh ground beef from Borzicks Farms Milkhouse Meats, Montello WI. LFS funds are used to purchase local unprocessed or minimally processed foods for the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. Watch our school menus or our district Facebook page to see what other fresh from scratch recipes we make with this fresh beef! We will be working with current high school students who are interested in the culinary pathway, to create healthy recipes for the school menu. What do you think our students would like to see on the school lunch menu made with sirloin roast and ground beef?
