On Friday, the Riverview Elementary School Character Education Committee recognized the Wautoma United States Postal Service for exhibiting the Character Trait- Responsibility.
There are many ways that the post office uses responsibility on a daily basis, plus, it takes a lot of people to make it happen. From organizing mail to making quick deliveries, every single person that works for the post office has an important role to help get the mail out in a timely manner. They have to pay attention to the details in making sure they get the correct envelopes to the correct addresses, along with having many mailboxes to fill throughout the town.
We are thankful for our responsible postal workers that help get important mail and packages to their destinations!
This morning we recognize Wautoma High School Senior Kylie Kline in the Youth Apprenticeship Spotlight!
This is Kylie’s first year in her Youth Apprenticeship with Gaatz Real Estate. Her primary focus is marketing where she creates ads for the Central Wisconsin Resorter. Kylie also created multiple social media pages for Gaatz Real Estate to promote current listings and continue to engage their followers.

Parkside 4th and 5th grade students kicked off their Bullying Prevention Unit in guidance with an accepting differences activity. Students listened and interacted with a read aloud of the book The Judgmental Flower, and then created flowers in ways that showed their differences or uniqueness.

Yesterday selected band students from Wautoma High School and Parkside School traveled to Nekoosa High School to participate in the South Central Conference Honor Band. This is the first time since the fall 2019 the students from Wautoma, Nekoosa, Mauston, Westfield, Adam-Friendship, and Wisconsin Dells have had the opportunity to participate in the SCC Honor Band due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Last night during the Wautoma Area School District Board of Education’s Monthly Meeting, Ms. Jewel Mucklin was approved to be the next District Administrator. Ms. Mucklin, the current Riverview Elementary Principal, will begin her new position on July 1, 2023, after Tom Rheinheimer officially retires.

The Wautoma Area School District COVID-19 Testing Site will be Closed Today. The next available testing day will be this Wednesday, November 16th, from 8-10 AM at the World War II Memorial Building.
Today’s Youth Apprenticeship Spotlight features Wautoma High School Senior Ava Stahl!
For the past two years Ava has been working on a Marketing Apprenticeship at Salon Muse under the direction of Owner Tanya Eagan. She is responsible for scheduling, answering phones, and helping to sell product. Earlier this year, Ava was also featured in the CESA 5 Youth Apprenticeship Magazine.

On Thursday, Nov. 3, twelve Wautoma High School students had the opportunity to participate in the Multilingual Multicultural Post-Secondary Day at Ripon College. This day-long program allowed multilingual students to tour Ripon College, attend a variety of information sessions, and learn more about post-secondary opportunities. The Wautoma High School Drama Department will present the play "She Kills Monsters" at the McComb/Bruchs PAC on November 4th and 5th at 7:00 PM.
"She Kills Monsters" tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ’90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

Congratulations to Leo Littell, WHS Student of the Month for October!
Miss Simacek’s 4th grade class was able to hike part of the Ice Age Trail at the Hartman Creek State Park. They hiked about 2.5 miles of this over 1,000 mile National Scenic Trail. On the hike, they learned about the history of the Ice Age Trail. They were also able to explore different landforms like kettles, kames, eskers, and erratics.
