Tadeo is a very kind student that exhibits all of the character traits on a daily basis. He is nice to all of his classmates and helps them whenever he can. He is also very respectful to teachers and always does what is asked of him. Tadeo works very hard in all subjects even when something is challenging, and always makes responsible choices even when others do not. It is for all these reasons and more that the 3rd grade team thinks Tadeo is the perfect student to receive the honor of student of the month.

Last week, Wautoma Area School District Administrator Tom Rheinheimer, Riverview Elementary Principal Jewel Mucklin, and student representatives Nefthany Tinoco and Owen Inda visited local community helpers, including the City of Wautoma and Wautoma Police Department, to invite them to volunteer for Character Day. The October 12th Character Day will correspond with the WASD Homecoming Week and provide students throughout the district the opportunity to learn more about Character Education and the traits the district follows. Pictured are: Jewel Mucklin, Nefthany Tinoco, Owen Inda, Tom Rheinheimer, Wautoma Police Sergeant Joey Rosin, and City of Wautoma Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer Tommy Boehler.

This week all of the third grade students at Riverview Elementary had a great time practicing the scientific method through a fun experiment. They tested three different food spreads to see which had the most fat. Some students were surprised by the results but all had a ton of fun and felt like real scientists.

Students in Miss Schmitt's ELA Acceleration Block recently were working on responding to the read aloud called "If I Built a School" by Chris Van Dusen. During their discussion, the students told Miss Schmitt what they would add to their school to make it exciting and why people would have fun. Then each student drew a picture of what their schools would look like.

2nd graders at Redgranite Elementary School practiced math skills by building towers. The skills they practiced are trying their best, not giving up, trying something different when they're frustrated, listening to others, and encouraging others. These second graders were very creative in overcoming their tower challenge!
