This past Monday, Lucy Winn from Pennsylvania visited third graders at Redgranite Elementary School. Lucy is the 2022 American Honey Queen. She is traveling across the country promoting honey and beekeeping. You can follow her journey at buzzingacrossamerica.com. Redgranite students were 'buzzing' with excitement that Lucy decided to make a stop at their school.

Congratulations to Redgranite's January - Student of the Month! This student is a great role model. During the month of January, Redgranite Elementary School was celebrating the character trait determination. This student is always striving to do her best, even if it isn’t always easy. She always turns in quality work. In the classroom, she is quick to grab out the needed materials and get right to work. Before school, she comes in the morning and gets started on her role in the classroom each day. This student strives for success each day shown by her determination. This student also possesses the previous character traits this year as well. She shows respect by always being quick to show 5 and always listens to directions, she shows that she is responsible by staying on task and following expectations, and she is empathetic as she is always quick to help others when they need it. Seeing February's character trait of leadership, I see this student continuing to exceed my expectations and being the great leader I know she is. It is with great pleasure that I nominate Leah Sullivan for Redgranite’s Student of the Month. Determination Award Winners - Maylee Goddard, Alex Markowski, Oliver Gimenez, Emmitt O'Connell, and Scarlet Hayes-Miller

Parkside 6th Graders worked on their clay "totem spoons" during Miss Rich's class earlier today. The project allowed the students to share things about themselves by making small clay representations of those things and attaching them to their spoons.

The Riverview Elementary School First Grade Team nominate Beckett for student of the month. Beckett comes to school each day prepared and ready to learn. She carries herself in a polite and respectful manner. Beckett is a great friend and works well with everyone in our class. In the classroom Beckett participates, whole body listens, stays on task, and follows directions making her a great example for her peers. One of Beckett’s greatest strengths is how she cares about others around her. Whether it’s helping classmates with their academics or solving problems using Kelso's choices; Beckett is always ready to help. Beckett is a great addition to our classroom and school.
