Last week the Redgranite Elementary fifth graders and kindergartners buddied up and worked on a fun fall project together. The kindergartners had to answer questions about themselves to determine what became a part of their final picture.

Redgranite third graders participated in a community scavenger hunt. They visited the public library, the post office, the quarry, and BR Diner. Students received their library cards at the public library. They learned how the post office works. They also enjoyed visiting the quarry. They were appreciative to be able to warm up with a cup of hot chocolate at BR Diner. Thanks to the community for supporting our scavenger hunt!

Congratulations to WHS's September Student of the Month Sophie Mager!
Sophie is the lead in this year's Musical, Legally Blonde, for which she is at rehearsal from 5 to 9pm three days a week. Sophie is also the section leader for Concert Choir and Honors Choir and is a consistently kind, caring, and intelligent leader for the entire concert Choir. The success of the Musical, Concert Choir and Honors Choir are largely due to Sophie's dedication to both musical greatness and consistent growth of character.
Sophie is also the drumline captain of the high school band. During the early weeks of school she ran drumline rehearsals during Start to help get her section ready for homecoming. She is an effective leader who helps increase the confidence of her peers. Sophie remembers what it was like to be a new member of the band and is encouraging to those who are beginning their high school band journey. Sophie is also a new member of the jazz ensemble this year and doing a great job learning how to play jazz piano. Her quiet leadership in this class is helping the rhythm section grow in their skills and her positive attitude is contagious to those around her.
Finally Sophie is working very hard in her independent study to prepare music for college auditions as she plans to be a music education major. We appreciate all the wonderful traits that Sophie brings to our school community and music program and feel she is well deserving of the honor of student of the month.
