A child is eligible for Pandemic EBT if two conditions are met:
• A child would be eligible for free or reduced-price meals
• School was reduced attendance or hours for at least 5 consecutive days

If you were not able to fill out a free/reduced meal application for the 20/21 school year, there is still time! Applications are accepted until June 30 for the 20/21 school year. You can apply online through Infinite Campus Parent Portal, by downloading an application off of our website: wautoma.org or by picking up an application at Parkside between 8:00-2:00 pm. Please note, you will have to fill out a new free/reduced meal application after July 1, to receive any new benefits for the 20/22 school year.

Camp Parkside students are having a "Wizarding" good time in the Harry Potter Fan Club class!
First, they created their own wands and magic spell books that they filled with Harry Potter spells. They also used magnets to try to get feathers to float, as they pretended to perform the wingardium leviosa spell from Harry Potter. They also created catapults to fling, "Golden snitches," as far as they could.
Camp Parkside's Nature Adventure course with 6th and 7th grade students had a great experience going to Roche-a-Cri state park admiring the petroglyphs.
The Easy Rider Group at Camp Parkside has been working very hard at pace, cadence, and following the rules of road riding. Yesterday we were able to make a safely all the way to Riverview and back with time to do a few laps around the school!

Free meals for all children 18 and younger! There are NO sign up, residency or income requirements! Meals offered at Parkside, M-F until July 2 during meal times. Breakfast: 7:45-8:25 am Lunch: 11:45-12:40 pm For all children 18 and younger that do not attend Camp Parkside, there are 3 meal options: Choose which option best fits your child's meal needs each day. 1. Children 18 or younger or someone picking up meals for them can come in during breakfast (7:45-8:25 am) or during lunch (11:45-12:40 pm) to grab a HOT "to go" meal. You can ask the cook what is on the menu for the day before choosing this option. 3. Choose a cold grab & go ready to eat meal. If your child that is 18 and younger would rather have a cold ready to eat meal, it will consist of a PBJ, string cheese, carrots or slushy, fruit, milk and a cold breakfast for the next day. You must pick up during lunch time 11:45-12:40 pm. Meals will not be offered outside of meal times. During Covid-19 Operations, anyone can pick up meals for children 18 and younger.
WASD Nutrition Department is looking for a Head Cook at Redgranite and Riverview school who loves working with youth to join our wonderful WASD nutrition team! This position is M-F, 30 hours per week. Pay rate is $14.74 - $17.19 an hour. Basic job duties include: Order and prepare food according to a planned menu and determine if the product is client acceptable, determine the quantities of each food prepared daily, maintain department required records to meet DPI requirements, maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and be an effective team leader. Must have manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure, have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass a background check and have three years of school food service experience in the preparation and serving of food is preferred. Along with an all around blast of a fun day, PTO surprised the kids with a dunk tank! The kids got the chance to dunk a teacher. It was the perfect way to SPLASH into summer!

Wautoma High School's Volleyball Program is hosting a Summer Youth Camp! Flyers are being sent home this week. The registration fee is $25 and it includes a t-shirt. Registration is due back by June 22nd.
NOTE THE UPDATED DATES OF THE CAMP ARE July 5-9th. The camp runs the whole week!

Congratulations to WHS Student of the Month Logan Johnson!
It is with pleasure that I nominate Logan Johnson for SOM. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Logan in my classroom for the past four years.
First and foremost, Logan is a genuine person. The authenticity and sincerity that he carries with him every day is a rare find. Being liked by his peers does not get in the way of his integrity. This does not mean that he is not well liked. On the contrary, Logan is trusted by students and staff alike.
He is a valuable member of Link Crew, a student mentoring program for incoming freshmen that I help advise, because of his approachability and inclusivity. He interacts positively with others who may be otherwise excluded by classmates. I never have to worry about which group I may ask Logan to join because he is positive and encouraging to ALL.
Logan is also an excellent student. I have noticed a maturity and growth in his work over the course of his high school career. He is thoughtful about his school work and takes the lead on asking questions when exploring ideas or for clarification. Logan embraces constructive criticism and looks to improve skills and learn, not just to get a better grade.
Logan also has a wonderful sense of humor which is a part of his consistent, positive attitude and likeable personality. I cannot say enough about Logan. I hope my own children grow to have his kindness, thoughtfulness, and work ethic.
