This student is a great role model in the 4th grade classroom and to other students in the building. He shows responsibility at all times while at school to his peers and staff. He is responsible for his learning at school by making eye contact with the speaker, having good body language when learning, and participating in class. He is always quick to show 5 and direct his attention to the adult. He knows the difference between right and wrong, and is always making good choices and doing the right thing. Ms. Simacek often sees this student being responsible by bringing in items from recess that he did not use. I have also seen him help others clean up things inside and outside of the classroom.
This student continues to exceed my expectations. He is also a great leader and encourages other students to be the best version of themselves. It is with great pleasure that I nominate Elliot Shepherd for Redgranite’s Student of the Month.

The 8th Graders in Ms. Rich’s Art Class are getting creative with clay by designing tiki-inspired vessels featuring two expressive faces - each showing a different emotion. We can’t wait to see their creations come to life!
Ms. Whalen is an incredible 5th Grade teacher whose understanding and kindness make a lasting impact on everyone she teaches. She gives her students a reason to come to school each day by creating a classroom where they feel valued, supported, and motivated to learn.
Ms. Whalen knows when her students need a break and offers patience and encouragement to help them refocus. She takes the time to explain things in ways that make sense, ensuring everyone has the chance to succeed. Her calm presence and caring nature make her classroom a place where students feel safe to learn, grow, and be themselves.

Adalaide displays a caring and respectful attitude towards teachers and fellow students. She maintains a positive attitude towards assignments, whether working on her own or in a group setting. She consistently is willing to help her fellow classmates and works well in groups and/or individually. She advocates for her own learning, and knows just when to ask for help.
Additionally, without being asked, Adalaide looks for ways to help her teachers in any way possible. She is a wonderful example of an 8th grade student and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. As a member of the NewzCrew she has spent countless hours behind the scenes, creating scripts, editing video and communicating with other members. In FBLA Adalaide is willing to work with any student to help them understand their project and how to find their resources. She balances these extracurricular responsibilities while being in band and a member of the yearbook staff.
When looking for a student who is willing to cooperate in any situation, shows empathy in all her actions and is respectful to students and staff it is easy to see why Adalaide Hartmann should be Parkside School’s October Student of the Month.

Due to the Federal Government Shut Down, the FoodShare Program many families in the area rely on is expected to end soon. Please click the image for a list of local food pantries in Waushara County that are available to assist during this time.

IMPORTANT FREE & REDUCED MEALS INFORMATION:
Your child’s free or reduced-price meal eligibility will not be affected by the government shutdown.
If your child already qualifies for free or reduced-price meals, that eligibility stays in place for the rest of the school year, no matter what happens with your income or benefits.
Schools still have funding to provide meals.
The WI Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has received enough federal funds to cover November meal reimbursements, and more funding is expected to come. That means school meal operations will continue as normal, as will the honoring of free and reduced-priced meals.
FoodShare (SNAP) benefits might be delayed for families, but this will not affect school meals.
If your family receives FoodShare/SNAP benefits, you may experience a delay in those payments if the shutdown continues. However, this does not change your child’s meal eligibility. Students will still receive free or reduced-priced meals as usual at school.
APPLYING FOR FREE & REDUCED MEALS
Families can apply for free or reduced-price meals at any time during the school year. If your circumstances change during the year and you believe you may qualify, Pick up a paper application at any of the school offices or apply online by clicking the following link https://bit.ly/2XAZnUo. Once you are logged into IC, go to More//Meal Benefits to begin the process. You only have to do one application per family per current school year.

🎨♻️ Talk about stepping up the creativity! The Wautoma High School Art students enrolled in Mr. Miller's Sculpture class transformed old marching band shoes donated by the WHS Band into incredible sculptures. This inter-departmental up-cycling project gives the black shoes a brand new life - as pieces of visual art!
Check out some of the cool creations the students came up with!

Toot Your Horn, Tuesday!
At Riverview Elementary, we all know the true hero working behind the scenes: our dedicated custodian, Mr. Miller! He is the silent guardian, the watchful protector, and the true Dark Knight of our hallways. While he doesn't wear a cape, he always carries a utility belt full of cleaning supplies. He's constantly swooping in to sweep away danger—from making the cafeteria floor sparkle after spaghetti day, to ensuring the playground is always safe and tidy. Mr. Miller is our clean-up crusader, making sure every corner of Riverview is crime-free (meaning mess-free!).
Thank you, Mr. Miller, for always being the hero this school deserves!

Attention parents and guardians of current Juniors and Seniors; we need your input!
Wautoma Area School District currently accesses Federal Carl D. Perkins funding to help support its Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs (Business, Family and Consumer Sciences, Agriculture, Tech Ed, and Manufacturing classes). In applying for this funding, WHS is participating in a Regional Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment. As part of the needs assessment, parents and guardians are encouraged to provide feedback on your local CTE programs.
This brief survey will ask if your student(s) have taken a CTE course, why or why not, and the relevancy of some basic components of the programs. Please only respond to this survey if you have a student enrolled in high school. We ask that parents and guardians of current juniors and seniors complete this survey.
Your feedback is appreciated and will help shape regional strategies to support local CTE programs moving forward. Please complete the survey by November 30, 2025.
