Titus Patterson - When thinking of a fifth-grade student who demonstrates cooperation, respect, and empathy, the fifth-grade team immediately knew who they would nominate. This student consistently models what it means to be a kind and thoughtful classmate. His ability to work well with anyone and treat everyone with fairness and kindness stands out every day.In addition to his cooperative and respectful nature, he shows a deep sense of responsibility. He comes to class prepared, stays focused on his tasks, and always puts forth his best effort. He also advocates for himself in class when he doesn’t understand something. What truly sets this student apart is his integrity—he does the right thing, even when no one is watching. He admits when he makes a mistake and works to make things right. His actions show strong character, and he serves as a role model for his peers. The fifth-grade team is proud to recognize him as someone who shows cooperation, respect, empathy, responsibility, and integrity every single day.

Happy School Lunch Hero Day! Thank you for all you do for the students and staff!

Congratulations to Riverview Elementary's TWO Students of the Month!
It is a privilege to nominate Reed Lehr for Riverview Student of the Month. Reed is a great student and a role model for his classmates. Reed comes to school prepared to learn with all the the things he needs. When it’s time for a whole group lesson, Reed keeps his eyes on the speaker and listens carefully. When it’s independent work time, Reed gets started right away and stays focused the whole time, whether the teacher is nearby or not. He even cleans up after himself without any reminders. Reed is kind and cooperative with any partner or group, no matter who it is. Reed is kind and respectful to teachers and other kids around the school, too. He follows the rules of walking quietly in the hall, playing safely on the playground, and keeping his hook area organized. Reed is calm and in control, even when having fun and being silly. Reed never gives up, even when things are difficult. He puts in the work and he is learning so much in first grade. We wish we could keep him in first grade forever, but it will be fun to see him setting a great example in his future classes, too.

The Riverview Elementary 2nd Grade Team nominates Sarai Flores
Torres for April Student of the Month! Sarai demonstrates all character traits every day. She is kind and works well with anyone else in the class. Sarai listens to her teammates and discusses with them to make decisions as a team. She is someone that helps her partner or teammates understand what to do and how instead of just telling them the answer or letting others
do the work for her. Sarai works hard on all of her assignments and truly turns in her best work, every time. She is responsible in the classroom, the hallway, the bathroom - everywhere. She does what she is supposed to do and does it with integrity. Sarai is overall an incredible role model for her peers. For these reasons, and SO many more, we believe Sarai is truly deserving of student of the month.

On April 26th the family of Chuck Reilly made a significant donation to the Wautoma Hardwater Hornets Ice Fishing Team. In 6th grade band, students have the opportunity to earn "karate belts" as they progress through the year by independently learning new songs and skills from the lesson book. There are 9 belts, but new ones were needed when a few students passed their black belt! Katelyn Bushweiler has not only passed her black belt on trumpet, but has passed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th degree black belt, earning her Hornet Belt! Katelyn has been dedicated to practicing and becoming a better musician since day 1- she is an exemplary student in and out of the band room. Way to go, Katelyn!

Throughout this school year, Miss Ponto's 4th Grade Class followed the growth of a calf through the "Adopt a Cow" program. Today, we got to watch a live chat with the farmer that takes care of our cow, Lexi. We learned about her farm and how she's cared for. The kids loved seeing Lexi live!

"It is both an honor and a joy to celebrate the excellence, perseverance, and remarkable achievements of the top academic scholars of Wautoma’s Class of 2025. These students have not only worked diligently to be at the top of their class, but have also committed their time and energy to positively impacting the success of our school, the lives of students in our district and our communities. When you’re walking the halls of Wautoma High School or catching them out in the community, these students are smiling and greeting you, while probably thinking of ways to support those in our communities. Congratulations on your successes both and off the mat!

The Third Grade Team would like to nominate Charlie Reagan for February Student of the Month.
Charlie comes in everyday ready to work hard and try his best. He is always on task and does what is asked of him.
He also is a great friend and classmate who is kind to others and willing to help students who might be struggling.
Charlie demonstrates all of the character traits on a daily basis. He especially shows this month's trait of leadership not only in the classroom but also at Riverview by being a part of the student council. Charlie is a great reader, writer, and mathematician who often goes above and beyond what he is being asked to do.
Charlie is an overall amazing student and person. It is for those reasons and more that he is more than deserving of being named student of the month.
