With a passion for working with children and as a native Spanish speaker, Cristina Mantilla will be taking over the role as the bilingual educational assistant at Riverview Elementary School this fall.
Ms. Mantilla is excited to support bilingual students in their academic development and emotional well-being as a person who understands first-hand the cultural adjustments students from diverse backgrounds face. She believes that creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students is what helps them to thrive and is committed to make the students feel supported.
Throughout her work experience, she has developed strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability-qualities that are vital when working with young learners. Ms. Mantilla also takes great joy in helping students overcome language barriers and build connections in the classroom.

This fall, Wautoma High School Alumnus Chase Mastricola will be returning to his high school as the new Business and Information Technology Teacher. With a degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Mr. Mastricola is looking forward to building meaningful interpersonal relationships with the students and provide engaging experiences in which the students not only learn but are invested in their work. He has already started building these relationships with students at Parkside and WHS having served as Summer School Bigger Faster Stronger Trainer the past two years.

This fall, Ms. Alexandra Klapoetke will be transferring from her position as the Parkside Grade 8 Science Teacher to this new position and will start offering a variety of courses to students this fall.
With a Bachelor of Science degree from UW-River Falls with a specialization in agriculture education and biology, Ms. Klapoekte brings over three years’ experience to this new position having served as the agriculture student advisor and educator with the Westfield School District.
With Klapoetke in this new role at Parkside and WHS, her hope is to work with administration to implement a Future Farmers of America (FFA) Program over the next few years. The program is committed to providing experiences for students in leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education.
Courses surrounding Agriculture and Technology will cover topics like plant science, farming practices, environmental sustainability, and technology, including woodworking, small engines, light electrical, and plumbing. Agriculture is a staple of our area, and many students have shown interest in courses that will help them excel in the agricultural field. Congratulations on your new position!

Mr. Cason Heckendorf is excited to embark on his next teaching experience at Parkside School this fall as the new general music/choral music teacher.
