This student’s exemplary character is demonstrated day in and day out. He truly is the epitome of all of the Wautoma Area School District character traits. He is honest, dependable, trustworthy, and responsible. He is respected by his peers and adults here at Redgranite. He is always considerate of others and he always looks to find the positive in every situation. He is also willing to lend a helping hand to his fellow students and his teachers when needed. He is a true leader in and out of the classroom. Over the years, his determination and commitment to learning has led him to great successes with his academics. With such great character, he certainly has a bright future ahead of him. It is with honor and admiration that I nominate Korban Withall as Redgranite's October Student of the Month.

Students at Redgranite received an award today for showing the Character Trait Responsibility.
Congratulations!!

Congratulations to Jersey, Riverview's Student of the Month!

Third grade students at Redgranite recently read a book titled Third Grade Angels written by Jerry Spinelli. In writing class they learned about the parts of a friendly letter and how to compose a friendly letter. They then wrote a letter to author Jerry Spinelli giving him praise for writing a book filled with surprises that kept them on the edge of their seats. The letters were sent off and the children are patiently awaiting a reply. Pictured above are Ian Moldenhauer, Amelia Meckelberg, and Monica Hansen.

On Tuesday, October 28th The HS had special guest, Micheal T Borchardt, Staff Sergeant United States Army and Joshua F. Withers, Sergeant First Class United States Army serving hot lunch to the students! Thank you for your time and service!

Riverview A+ After School started new clubs in October including Macrame! Students learned and practiced tying macrame knots to create a hanging clay pot holder. What skilled students we have at A+!

Redgranite A+ After School Students started "reading buddies" in September and participate in hands on learning activities during homework time when they do not have homework (such as puzzles & fraction bingo).

Over the last couple of weeks the 3rd grade students at Riverview have had a great time learning all about the Scientific Method. One of their favorite experiments was figuring out which liquid would dissolve candy corn the fastest. They all really enjoyed being scientists!

This morning at approximately 10:00 AM, a Wautoma High School student left the building in an angry manner without permission. The student went toward the Bird Creek Park Area. To ensure the safety of this student and all students/staff at Parkside School and Wautoma High School, we placed both Parkside School and Wautoma High School on Soft Lock Down/Shelter in Place until the student was safely placed in custody. With the assistance of law enforcement we were able to secure the student at 11:30 AM and the Soft Lock Down/Shelter in Places were lifted at both schools.

Today Mrs. Wagner's second graders and Ms. Lyons' kindergartners had book buddies. The second graders brought their book boxes to the kindergartners. The students read stories, shared book knowledge, and showed what great readers do!

Hailey recently won 1st place in the Wautoma Fire Department coloring contest for Fire Prevention Week! Congratulations!
