2nd and 3rd grade students recently participated in a Bike Rodeo at Redgranite Elementary School. The students learned how to properly inflate bicycle tires, they learned the proper hand signals to use when biking, and they learned additional information about road safety. Each student was properly fitted with a brand new bike helmet. Thank you to Nurse Cari and the Waushara County Health Department for teaching the children about bicycle safety.

Congratulations to Chase Mastricola--WHS's Student of the Month for April. Leadership and character mean different things to different people. Chase Mastricola has grown into a natural leader, but does it in such a subtle way. He truly leads by quiet example. He's become the unofficial student to go to if there's a question in class and helps others in class when needed. His classmates know they can go to him with a question and he’ll be willing to provide them with an answer or the necessary assistance. As a student mentor for class, I have leaned on him to provide the underclassmen with proper examples of lifts, safety and general weight training etiquette. Taking academics seriously is important to Chase, regardless of the content area. He comes to school every day with an excitement for learning and a dedication for going above and beyond at school. Chase pays close attention to detail and makes sure that his daily work is not only accurate, but also meticulously neat and of the utmost quality. He excels in all the subject areas and I especially am impressed with his ability to be a quality student, athlete, and extracurricular participant. In AP Spanish, Chase comes to class ready to learn. He has a positive attitude. Chase challenges himself daily in class. When conversing he strives to not speak any english. If he is not sure about a word he needs to use, he works with what he knows and explains what he would like to convey. His growth in the language this year is excellent. Chase is the epitome of a well rounded individual and should be proud of himself. We thank him for his efforts and the examples he has set for others in his time at Wautoma High School. I can't wait to see what he does with his tremendous talents. I'm confident he will go far in life!
