The Wautoma High School Drama Department will present the play "She Kills Monsters" at the McComb/Bruchs PAC on November 4th and 5th at 7:00 PM. "She Kills Monsters" tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ’90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all. * Recommended for ages 12 and Up*

Miss Simacek’s 4th grade class was able to hike part of the Ice Age Trail at the Hartman Creek State Park. They hiked about 2.5 miles of this over 1,000 mile National Scenic Trail. On the hike, they learned about the history of the Ice Age Trail. They were also able to explore different landforms like kettles, kames, eskers, and erratics.

This Thursday we're trying something new on our menu, voted as a favorite by students! At our mini food show that was held during October's P/T conferences, we had samples of shepherd's pie and it was a big hit! We had students fill out comment cards and some of the feedback was: "Delicious!" "Loved Everything!" "Mmmmm!" "All I can say is delicious." "It was awesome!" The lunch crew hopes your student will try it and enjoy it just as much!

Last week Mrs. Sluke’s Rock Climbing Class worked on building trust among each other. They successfully completed the spider web activity on our outdoor challenge course. This particular activity requires every member of the class to make it through one of the spider web openings without touching the web. Each opening "closes" after a student makes it through successfully, so all of the openings of the web are utilized. The activity cannot be accomplished without the help, assistance and protection provided by all of the participants.
