This year, 4th and 5th grade students at Redgranite Elementary School were part of the inaugural Student Council. The members mission was to spread kindness throughout the school and the community. Yesterday, the Student Council members enjoyed a smoothie at Sunshine Coffee in Redgranite. We figured since they helped spread sunshine throughout the community, we would put a little sunshine in their lives. Student Council members would like you to remember, "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."

Last week at "Campin' at Riverview Family Night", one of the stations allowed students to use their estimation skills and guess how many objects were in each jar. Mrs. Barker did an amazing job of counting each object and then checking all the student guesses. Congratulations to our Estimation Jar winners! These students estimated closest to the actual number of items in each jar.

Congratulations to WHS Student of the Month: Victoria Pierotti Victoria has been a solid photography student this last semester. As a senior in Photography 1 she demonstrates a quiet, but unflinching leadership in a classroom with many sophomores and juniors. She is always up-to-date with assignments. Her work is extremely high quality and she contributes some valuable information to critical discussions with her classmates. Victoria recently had the wonderful opportunity to represent Wautoma High School at the annual South Central Conference Art Show. She submitted a large-scale and close-up detailed photo to the show. After the conference judges observed all the work, Victoria’s photograph earned the first place award. Her photography has been featured in the Waushara Argus. It will be published in the upcoming South Central Conference high school writers “Musings” annual magazine and will appear on the Wisconsin Visual Artists website. Victoria is a great student to have in class. Her visual arts talents are amazing and her presence is a valuable asset to the rest of her fellow photo students. Victoria is currently in Spanish III. She works hard and has shown great growth in the language. Victoria comes to class daily with a positive attitude. She works well with her peers. I look forward to watching her grow more as she attends UWSP in the fall.
