The Wautoma Area School District’s (WASD) Board unanimously approved the district’s long-range facilities plan and voted to place two capital referendum questions on the April 1, 2025 ballot. Each question, if approved, would support the district's ability to begin implementation of the phased long-range facilities plan. To read more, visit https://bit.ly/4gqaRNY.

The American Beekeeping Federation recently held their 82nd Annual Convention in Reno, Nevada. The new American Honey Queen and Princess have been crowned! Cheyenne Bastian-Brown from Pennsylvania was crowned the 2025 American Honey Queen and Emilia Burnham from California was crowned the 2025 American Honey Princess. The ladies have begun to travel around the United States promoting honey and beekeeping. Today they "buzzed" into Redgranite Elementary School where they spoke to third graders about bees. Bee-lieve it or not, learning about bees was un-bee-lievably fascinating!

On behalf of the Third Grade teachers, it is my pleasure to nominate April Dominguez for Riverview Elementary School’s Student of the Month.
April is an outstanding student who consistently shows all of our character traits. She is a sweet girl who respects all of her teachers and classmates. April is friendly and helpful to everyone in class.
Whenever someone needs a hand, she is right there, rolling up her sleeves to help them out. April cares how other people feel. When someone is upset or disappointed, she quickly comes over to check them out. April has an amazingly positive attitude. No matter what the task is or how difficult it is, she takes it on with a smile on her face.
This month’s focus is determination and that is one of April’s strongest traits. For example, spelling is not easy for her, so April practices her spelling words at home even when it is not required. Because of her work, April’s spelling and writing skills and grades have improved nicely since school has started.
When April is reading, she always takes her time to use our reading strategies to decode unknown words. She has gone up three reading levels this year!
I look forward to seeing what April can accomplish the rest of the school season. April’s determination, work ethic and character make her a fantastic choice for student of the month.

This weekend is the first tournament for the Wautoma High school ice fishing team. We would like to thank Wautoma Rental for donating propane for the heaters in our warming tent.
