Students in Ms. Lyons' Kindergarten Class have been traveling around the world to learn about holidays and traditions throughout the world. Last week they went to Mexico, Germany, Italy, and Sweden. While "visiting" Sweden, the kindergarteners learned that Christmas and St. Lucia Day are celebrated, and made starboys hats and St. Lucia crowns. The students are excited to continue their travels to India, Israel, Australia, back home to the United States, and out to Africa and the Middle East in the coming weeks.

Mrs. Shepard's 6th grade language arts classes are reading Walk Two Moons. Students are reading the parts of dialogue as a play with Mrs. Shepard or Mrs. Coussons being the narrator. Students chose the parts to read based on who was present in the chapter. They read the parts as they envisioned the character, with inflection and intonation. This helps students to learn how to write dialogue correctly as well as how to read fluently with feeling, putting themselves in the story.
