The Wautoma Area School District has named Eric Highlander as its new Business Manager, following unanimous approval by the Wautoma Area School Board at its September 8, 2025, meeting at Wautoma High School.
Highlander, a longtime member of the district staff, joined WASD in August 2016 as Parkside School’s Middle School Business and Information Technology Teacher. In February 2020, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, he transitioned into the role of Director of Technology. Prior to his career in education, Highlander worked as a financial advisor with Thrivent Financial in Oshkosh.
Along with his new role as Business Manager, Highlander will continue to serve as the district’s interim Director of Technology.
“We are excited to have Eric stepping into this important leadership role,” said District Administrator Karl Morrin. “His experience in both finance and technology, combined with his commitment to our district, make him an excellent fit to help guide our schools into the future.”
Highlander succeeds Carmen O’Brien, who resigned from the position in early September.
