AlexTo continue filling students’ educational needs, the Wautoma School Board approved to transfer Alexandra Klapoetke to the 7-12 Agriculture/Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) teacher during their regular meeting on July 14. Klapoetke will be transferring from her position as the Parkside Grade 8 Science Teacher to this new position and will start offering a variety of courses to students this fall.

With a Bachelor of Science degree from UW-River Falls with a specialization in agriculture education and biology, Klapoetke brings over three years’ experience to this new position having served as the agriculture student advisor and educator with the Westfield School District. In this position, she worked with faculty and stakeholders to enhance learning outcomes and participation in academic programs and developed and executed marking strategies to promote the Future Farmers of America (FFA) program and events.

With Klapoetke in this new role at Parkside and WHS, her hope is to work with administration to implement a FFA Program over the next few years. The program is committed to providing experiences for students in leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education.

Courses surrounding Agriculture and Technology will cover topics like plant science, farming practices, environmental sustainability, and technology, including woodworking, small engines, light electrical, and plumbing. Agriculture is a staple of our area, and many students have shown interest in courses that will help them excel in the agricultural field.
